Sony Ericsson today unveiled two new eco friendly phones, Sony Ericsson C901 GreenHeart (left) and Sony Ericsson Naite (right). The world’s first GreenHeart phones is made from a minimum of 50% recycled plastics and includes an optimised display light sensor that uses less energy.

The Sony Ericsson GreenHeart C901 is a quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE, dualband (900/2100) UMTS/HSPA handset with a 5-megapixel camera packing autofocus, Xenon flash and smile-shutter. It also has a 2.2-inch 240 x 320 display, A2DP Bluetooth, a Memory Stick Micro M2 card slot and Google Maps, though it uses cell-station triangulation as there’s no true GPS.

As for the Sony Ericsson GreenHeart Naite, that has the same display but a lower-res 2-megapixel camera. However there is still quadband GSM and UMTS/HSPA 850/1900/2100. It will land in Q2, while the C901 is expected by the end of Q2 2009. No word on pricing as yet. [Slashgear]
