Sony Japan today announced new Walkman NW-X1000-series, which is considerably smaller than the iPod Touch with measures 97.4 x 52.5 x 10.5mm only. Sony Walkman NW-X1000 Series is available in two models, NW-X1050 with 16GB of internal memory and NW-X1060 32GB.
The features of the NW-X1000 Series are 3-inch OLED touch screen (240 × 432 resolution), WiFi (IEEE 802.11b/g), support for YouTube, and a noise reduction function and equipped with digital TV-tuner segment (the only one sense, Japan and Brazil). Sony Walkman smallest PMP supports most audio and video formats like MP3/HE-AAC/AAC/WMA/linear PCM/ATRAC/ATRAC Advanced Lossless and video in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 and MPEG-4/WMV.
Sony Walkman NW-X1000 series will be available in Japan from 25 April (in red and black), the NW-X1050 16GB model will be priced at $400, and the NW-X1060 32GB version will be at a price of $500. [www.crunchgear.com]
